Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
Onyx is seeking an FP&A professional to join our team as we guide clients along the path to clean energy for users throughout the United States.
The FP&A Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will coordinate internal financial reporting and support the firm’s capital planning and decision-making. Onyx seeks to hire an individual who is highly motivated, intellectually curious, and has demonstrated high performance in their previous endeavors. In addition to possessing strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should be detail-oriented, an effective communicator and have a desire to work in a team environment, often under pressure.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor the annual budget and monthly forecasts across business lines which will include business casing, scenario analysis, and long-term planning
- Improve reporting and ERP systems, implementing best practices with unit managers
- Track and oversee dynamic, detailed capital budgets that incorporate complex structural nuances of the core business
- Work closely in tandem with the Strategy and Finance, Accounting, and EPC teams on financial forecasts, capital decision-making and inventory management
- Assist senior management and investors in preparation of periodic valuation analysis
- Assist in preparation of presentation materials for the firm’s senior management and board
- Adapt quickly with the continuing evolution of the firm and the renewable energy industry
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or mathematics
- Firm understanding of financial accounting with US GAAP (with IFRS knowledge a plus)
- 3+ years of experience working in an FP&A role, with experience in financial institutions, renewable energy, construction or real estate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to interact with the firm’s senior leadership and external financing counterparties
- Mindful, accountable, responsible, respectful and collaborative approach to work

Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Work experience in the renewable energy, power and utilities, real estate, or construction industries
- Experience deploying and implementing accounting platforms (including integration with ERP systems)
Salary Range
- $110-140,000/year depending on qualifications
